Cate Blanchett has denied dating women in the past after it was reported she had admitted to being bisexual last week.The two-time Oscar winner, who has three sons Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, six, and adopted baby daughter Edith with husband Andrew Upton, has insisted she didn't say she had been in a relationship with a woman "many times" during an interview with which was released earlier this week.
Blanchett's frustrated response comes after A-listers such as Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore have thrown their support behind social media movement #Ask Her More, which calls for reporters to delve a little deeper than what a woman is wearing when it comes to red carpet questioning.
She followed her comments with a couple of suggested questions of her own: 'What's the biggest risk you've taken that you feel has paid off? What potential do filmmakers and characters have to make change in the world?
Blanchett was one of 300 influential women in Hollywood who launched the Time’s Up initiative this week, in response to a string of sexual assault accusations against prominent men in the film industry.
The Australian actor will become the 12th woman to lead the prestigious panel at Cannes, which kicks off on 8 May.
